Cade Russell, a 2018 Pryor High School graduate, has officially launched his legal career after passing the Oklahoma Bar Exam. He now serves as a prosecutor in Osage County, handling a wide range of cases, including criminal misdemeanors, felonies, and matters involving juvenile delinquents and deprived children.

“I was drawn to this area of law because it is both intellectually engaging and deeply fulfilling. Serving as an advocate for victims and vulnerable children is not only a responsibility—it’s a privilege,” Russell said.

Russell credits his senior internship with local Judge Rebecca Gore as the deciding factor in his decision to pursue a legal career. “Before the internship, I had considered becoming an attorney, but I wasn’t certain it was the right path. Working with Judge Gore daily gave me an invaluable, behind-the-scenes look at the legal system and helped solidify my decision to pursue law,” he said.

He also noted that the advanced coursework he completed at Pryor High School helped lay the foundation for success in both college and law school.

Reflecting on his time at Pryor High, Russell noted that the friendships and experiences he formed helped shape his journey. “Whether it was attending the Student Council State Convention in Guymon or planning the 2017 prom at the Flying M Ranch, we were always engaged in meaningful, fun experiences together.”

He also recognized the influence of his teachers. “The teachers at PHS also made a deep impact—they weren’t just educators. They became mentors, advisors, and trusted confidants who invested their time and energy in helping us grow both academically and personally,” Russell said.

Russell's words of advice for current students: “Focus on being the best version of yourself, rather than comparing your journey to others. Celebrate your own milestones and uplift those around you.”
