It’s season two for Roosevelt Trading Cards, and our Tigers are already in the game—actively working to earn new cards for their collections.

At the beginning of September, STEM teacher Delia Gietzen wheeled in boxes filled with the 2026–2027 edition of the cards. The cards were distributed to Pryor Public Schools teachers and staff, officially launching this year’s “hunt” and giving Roosevelt Tigers the opportunity to expand the collections they started last year.

The cards are divided into categories ranging from common to legendary, a new category introduced this year. Each card features a custom design showcasing a Roosevelt teacher, staff member, or special visitor.

Earning the cards is part of the fun. According to Gietzen, each staff member determines the challenge students must complete to receive their card. Requirements might involve a little “Sharpen the Saw” exercise or academic accomplishment.

“Mrs. Walker was telling me about her requirement of five push-ups for her card and how the students are already all about it!” Gietzen said.

Students might also be asked to solve an algebra problem to earn Ms. Gonzales’ card. Whatever the challenge, Roosevelt Tigers are excited to participate and add new cards to their collections.

Teachers arrange special trading events, giving students opportunities to exchange cards with classmates. To stay in the game, students must follow established fair-trading guidelines.

With new cards to collect, challenges to complete, and the legendary category now in play, the hunt is on at Roosevelt Elementary!
