Hello Families! Here's a look at what's happening in reading this Quarter, as well as upcoming dates to remember:
✏️ Spelling Practice at Home: Encourage "Spelling Art"! Have students write words in bubble letters or turn each word into a mini illustration. It's a fun way to practice!
💬 Deepen Comprehension: When reading with your child, ask thought-provoking questions! Help them consider a character's feelings or predict what might happen next in the story.
📖 Reading Log Reminder: Reading Logs are due at the end of each month! Don't forget to submit them. Students who turn in 7 months of reading logs by May will be celebrated in a big way! Keep those logs coming!
🗓️ Upcoming Dates to Remember:
November 20: Jefferson 70 Year Celebration (More details to come!)
December 16: Cookies, Cocoa, and Carols
December 22 - January 5: Winter Break!
January 6: Welcome back to school!
Thanks for supporting our readers!

They were treated to a special lunch today! We extend a huge thank you to R&R Pageants for their generous sponsorship of this celebratory meal. R&R Pageants supports confidence, service, and leadership, and we deeply appreciate their helping us reward our spectacular students!!
Congratulations to all the wonderful students pictured!

Thank you for your incredible generosity! The costume walk was a great success, and we were able to pass out a wonderful amount of candy. We deeply appreciate your support.

Our community leaders and local churches have come together to create the Pryor Food Availability & Resources List — offering planned community meals throughout the week to support those impacted by recent benefit delays.
A list of available food resources is included below to help connect families with local support.
🧡 Together, our community is making sure no Tiger goes hungry.

As we close out National Principals Month, we celebrate our incredible team of leaders who guide teachers and students with one goal in mind: Tiger Success.
Thank you for the countless hours, care, and commitment you pour into our schools every day. 💛💙

Jefferson Monthly Reading Challenge
October-April
Calling all readers!
We've just launched a school-wide reading goal to build a strong
community of readers — and have some fun along the way!
Here’s how it works:
-Read each month from October through April. Follow your grade level
guidelines
-Complete and return your grade-level Reading Log by the end of each
month
-Turn in ALL 7 logs to be invited to our BIG end-of-year celebration!
This celebration will be something you definitely don’t want to miss out on!
Think fun, surprises, and a whole lot of excitement to reward your amazing reading
journey!
Let’s make reading a habit and celebrate your hard work in a BIG
way!
Start logging those minutes — every book, every page, every month
counts! Help us reach our goal of 100% participation!

Because it was teaching the class to spell “chrysanthemum.” 😂
We promise our literacy activities won’t require throwing anything out the window!
📂 Check your child’s folder this week for their guide, and keep reading Sideways Stories from Wayside School.
Let’s make National Literacy Month as fun and wacky as Wayside School!
